For quite some time, this page held a list of places we'd been mentioned. Newspapers,
radio programs, other web pages, and even TV shows. But for quite a few years, it had
lain dormant, never updated, although we seem to be mentioned somewhere every so often.
We first started this page because we were simply amazed at the types of places we were being mentioned. Newspapers that we held in high regard and cable channels we didn't hold in high regard but that are big nonetheless all seemed to talk about us in varying amounts. And we loved it. We lapped it up. But being famous, if you could call us that, isn't really all that impressive, when you think about it. After a while, we began to think that the fact that we were having stories about us go out on the news wire didn't so much indicate how important we were, as how trivial the news wire was getting. They'll talk about anything that has to do with the internet, especially when it doesn't tax anyone's brain too much and has the all-important entertainment aspect. Heaven forfend you people want to read about what's going on in your world. Ahem. Anyways, we also began to wonder what the point of such a page is, anyhow. Why would you, the reader, care whether or not someone else liked us. Either you do or you don't. Would you like us more if a big newspaper mentioned us? Would you feel that much more special? Would you like us any less if no one had noticed? My hope is that it doesn't matter, although people never cease to amaze us. Well, we decided that the Internet was too full of "look at me" pages. Webrings, banner exchanges, links, and those stupid, stupid awards that people give each other. Love us for what we are, or ignore us - honestly, we won't be able to tell the difference. So we hope you enjoy your stay here, but if you didn't, well, hey. | ||
